My role was a sales assistant in superdrug, this involved working on the tills, greeting customers, actively selling and working on deliveries. Including promotions and stock takes.
I have learnt all the skills of a sales assistant as this was my first job. My customer service skills have improved and all the skills I started to learn are now fully developed.
I thought it was a good programme as I learnt everything I needed to and I improved my career to a team leader so from doing this programme I've gone on to management.
I felt very valued at superdrug as the whole of my team supported me throughout my apprenticeship. My manager also put me on my team leader course so I felt like he had the faith in me to progress to this.
The programme is well structured as the assesor comes to visit you every 4 weeks which gives you enough time to get any work done and improve on more skills to write about I think you learn all the key skills needed.
You receive lots of support by them I had 2 different ones and both of them have me all the support I needed. If I had any problems I knew I could ring them and ask both of them were fantastic
You receive all the support you need from your employer if you need any help all you have to do is ask and they will help you out. I was also put on the team leader programme and I am now a qualified team leader.
At the time when I was on a apprenticeship the salary didn't meet my costs as I had to pay for a monthly bus pass to get to work and a phone bill out of it which ended up being more than I got. However now the pay has gone up I think it would be easier to keep some of the money you earn as it will be more.
Without this apprenticeship I struggled to get jobs as I had no experience. However doing this apprenticeship I think there would be more opportunities for me as I have the experience and the qualifications.
Yes
I would recommend superdrug to a friend as I think it's a good place to work especially if you into beauty. I really enjoy working at superdrug as I love what they sell if you shop in there then why not work in there. You also get a good discount on the products which makes the job even better.
I would tell them to have a good look in superdrug stores to get a feeling of what they seel and how the shops layer out, maybe buy a few products and test them do you can give customers feedback. If you work hard you can progress in there.
