  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I was a Business Innovation and Growth Apprentice. I rotated around numerous departments throughout my time with L-3 TRL and really got a wealth of experience under my belt. My main tasks were to support the department team activity and bring innovative ideas to the table.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by L-3 TRL?
  • All the line managers I worked with openly expressed their appreciation for what I had done whilst in their department. They had a good internal recognition scheme. I felt like my opinions were not only valued but also explicitly sought for on some projects.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure of the programme from L-3 TRL was brilliant. You were inducted on your first day and invited to all training sessions that you might need. They supported your studying and offered mentors. Numerous individuals offered support on college tasks. The structure from the college was a bit ad hoc.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Our tutors were very friendly and very supportive. For anyone wanting crystal clear structure, I would not recommend our tutors. They were lovely however a bit disorganised when it came to arranging dates to attending college and very late when marking work. Overall I enjoyed the course and learnt lots however they needed prompting in order to get information out to us.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • All of the managers have been beyond supportive and have offered me all of the knowledge. I was assigned a mentor who was also helpful however unfortunately left soon after I started. All employees have been really supporting and helpful with all problems. The HR Team were also really helpful with all queries.
