  • I currently work as a Compensation and Benefits Coordinator in HR. This role requires managing company cars and other third party benefits such as Private Medical Insurance and Childcare Vouchers. The role also involves coordinating and managing company bonuses and pay increases.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoy the programme. I feel I have developed above and beyond my own expectations whilst on the scheme. I feel that I am being looked out for from different people all across the business. I am given high levels of responsibility and am given all the tools I need in order to succeed and develop.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Mondelez?
  • Sometimes I feel slightly undervalued, for example, I don't feel that my salary or future salary reflects the role that I do or the amount of hard work I put into my degree. I don't feel that I am rewarded for the outstanding results I achieve at work or in my degree.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • As we are the first set of School Leavers at Mondelez, I don't think our scheme is well organised simply due to how new the scheme is. We have found that our scheme is not very well monitored and that no one team tends to want to take responsibility for organising the scheme. For example, part of our contract is attendance at university and at least 2:1 grades at university. This is not managed and therefore, members of the scheme are not meeting these requirements, but no one internally notices this.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Our lecturers at university are generally very supportive and work very hard to help us achieve the ambitious grades that we desire. Aston University are very accommodating and have proved so far to be an excellent university for our programme.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I feel that there are a lot of individuals across the business who look out for me and show a lot of interest in my role, my programme and my degree e.g. mentor, line manager, buddy, colleagues, leadership, functional course sponsors etc.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I find it difficult financially. The thing I find most difficult is knowing what colleagues who are doing the same role are being paid in comparison, which is very demotivating. Also, there are a lot of very interesting and great opportunities at London offices, but these are far out of my reach financially. Others on the scheme are able to do these roles due to financial help from family, but this is not an option for me. I don't think we should require family support financially in order to do particular roles.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are opportunities outside of work, if you are willing to look for them e.g. volunteering, socialising, gym classes etc. These types of things are available for everyone, so its up to the individual to seek out these types of things.

  • 9. Would you recommend Mondelez to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a great company to work for. I am very lucky to be on the programme that I am. I enjoy the roles that I do, I enjoy the degree programme and I enjoy making wide networks across the business.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Mondelez?
  • Be confident and passionate. Mondelez is a very relaxed business with a very joyful and laid back atmosphere, so make this present in your interview and you will fit in perfectly! don't take yourself too seriously, after all its only Chocolate! :)
