1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Day to day I help co-workers with tasks, more recently I've been put in charge of my own work flow. I communicate with other workers through e-mail and telephone conversations. As an apprentice I work and study at the same time, this means once a week I will attend college with the other apprentices.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Not only have I don't training courses online but also attend CPDs which further my knowledge. I also learn a lot of technical information at college

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy the people I work with and believe that if there are any issues I can talk to someone about them. The company I work for is great and give me the opportunity to experience nearly everything I want to.

4. How valued do you feel by Atkins?

I feel really valued by Atkins, When I'm given work to carry out myself or work which is being presented to the client it encourages me to work my hardest and its very rewarding. I'm also given the opportunity to do work for the company like organise CPDs and attend careers fairs to represent Atkins

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is very well organised and I get all the support I need from my line manager and other people involved with my apprenticeship. I can also ask my any of my colleagues for help if I need it

6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

I know I can contact my training provider if I need to however they would not be the first person I ask when I need to talk to someone or if I have any issues.

6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive the most help from people at Atkins and they help me as much as they can with anything I need.

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

My salary is very good for an apprentice pay, however I rent a flat which is a large chunk of money out of my salary, I would feel more comfortable living at home with the salary I am on at the moment

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

There are plenty of opportunities outside of work, social events and volunteer opportunities. There are also regularly classes around the office including zumba and wellness classes.

9. Would you recommend Atkins to a friend?

9b. Why?

Overall it is a great company with good pay and a friendly environment, there are good social aspects and the whole team are friendly.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Atkins?

Apprenticeships are not the easy way around things, it is hard work but worth it. Don't be shy at a group interview and get to know as many people as you can in the company.
