Skills Academy member Review

It was only a 2 day program but very beneficial. We were given lots of presentations and were taught skills on presentations, research and other things needed for being successful in the job we were to later apply for. This was all done through a case study which was really useful as we were learning through doing instead of it being all theoretical.

I learnt how to deliver a good presentations and simple things like eye contact and handouts that helped make our team unique. We also learnt good skills like networking and how to make contacts across the company.

I really enjoyed this program and it gave me a true insight into the company and their values and whether it would be a place I'd like to work. It was much better than my expectations. The atmosphere was so friendly but professional and our mentors seemed really genuine but also raving about the company because they loved it there and not because they had been told to promote it.

Incredibly valued. Everyone from the CEOs to the business trainees we met were so friendly but also really valued our opinion and were so helpful too. You didn't feel like because you are younger and newer you are inferior and everyone brings different qualities to a team due to this so they really value your opinion also.

We didn't know fully what we were doing until we got there. However the program was nicely laid out when we got there which was brilliant and we each had a team mentor who answered any of our questions and really looked after us and went beyond the call of duty to help us and make sure we saw every aspect to the company.

so friendly but also really aspirational. I feel like they will push me to achieve my best without the cut throat community of trampling on others to get to the top.

Be yourself as they are just as much checking that they are good for you as you are for them. Do a program like Skills Academy or Bright Stars as it will help give you a foothold as to how to apply. Also talk to your tutors and people around you as everyone knows an accountant who can give you some help with questions.
