1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My job role is called Change and Problem Management but I also cover Risk tasks. I carry out daily meetings, creating agenda and minutes for different meetings and a daily cab call where we review the changes going ahead that evening.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have earned the Comptia qualification along with some tech certs qualifications with my apprentice company. I can take training courses within my company but I am looking to complete level 4 before I do so.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy what I do on a daily basis and working with my team. I get to interact with all different teams within different departments too so I build up a great network and my social skills are gradually improving. there is a range of cultures within Nomura so you get to learn about them and how they may do things differently, so you build up knowledge.

4. How valued do you feel by Nomura?

I feel valued and I know this because my manager and senior manager tell me that I do a great job and show their appreciation every now and then. They also let me know how hard I've been working, especially if I've been working on a new project for them.

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is very organised as when you first join you are told the basics and shown around and then given an employee handbook which is very detailed and gives you all the policies. Furthermore people in your team and area will show you around and introduce you to new people. You are given training courses to do as soon as you join and they go on throughout your stay here at Nomura. The support from my team and other teams is really great, they are all willing to help you learn and improve your knowledge.

6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

I receive good support but it could be improved as I feel like I don't see my assessor that often or my work is never reviewed on time. The feedback can also be hit and miss.

6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?

The support I receive from my manager is really great, he always gives me enough time to spend doing my coursework and regularly checks in with me. Other employees within Nomura are also very helpful and are willing to let you shadow them etc to help with coursework

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

The salary is great within Nomura which means it allows you to earn enough to support yourself with food, rent, travel costs etc

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

There are always opportunities in Nomura to spend time with other department or teams. they have regular charity events, a bar every Thursday night, football games, apprentice opportunities e.g. go ape, there is a gym downstairs

9a. Would you recommend Nomura to a friend? *
