I am a busniess admin apprentice working for an organisation in Fujitsu called the PASS team. My day to day role can include coordinating spreadsheets, making org charts, financial forecasting and working alongside the recruitment team (which is what I am currently doing).
My excel and interpersonal skills have definietely improved. The btec I am currently doing is teaching me a lot about my role itself.
I work alongside 2 other apprentices and I love that aspect - we are the same age and so can relate to one another, it also makes the job a lot more fun. I am so glad i chose an apprenticeship as opposed to going to college as it gives me stability and on the job training which enables me to efficently utilise my skills.
Very - I feel that the company enjoys taking apprentices on and I feel like any other employee. I have a good relationship with my manager which i feel makes it easier.
Good - I have monthly meetings with my apprenticeship mentor, he provides me with my btec and NVQ work. I also have regualr chats with my manager including appraisals so I know how I'm getting on.
I only see him monthly, other than that I don't have much contact with him but I know if i had any problems i could just drop him an email.
A lot - my manager is extremely dedicated in ensuring the apprentices he looks after are getting on ok and understand what they're doing.
For a 17 year old like me, the pay is good for my needs. I live in the location I work so it's extremely easy to get to
Natioanl apprenticeship week is coming up, and a few apprentices including myself will be going to schools to talk to pupils about apprenticeships. I am also taking part in 'vertical rush' of which involves climbing up the stairs of tower 42 in London whilst committing to raise atleast £180 for a charity called Shelter.
Yes
It's a huge company with great opportunities
Make sure you do a lot of research about the company before you go to an interview. Contact First4Skills and they are extremely helpful in guiding you to the right apprenticeship for you within Fujitsu
