  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am currently in an 18 month apprenticeship and also going through training and exams during this period. On a day-to-day basis I help employees within the office with their general tasks and also get involved in client work which has benefited me greatly.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many new skills during my time within the apprenticeship. One of these new skills is the confidence to ask employees for help or further tasks when I am in need.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the apprenticeship and the oppurtunities that I have been given by Aon. I did not expect the treatment that I have recieved whilst working for Aon as a company.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Aon?
  • Aon value all of their employees to the best of their ability. When it comes to their apprenticeship, extra care is taken and this is great to see.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The apprenticeship is very well structured with great future oppurtunities for apprentices. The only negative is the training programme, which has been poorly run and this is dissapointing to see as I believe this has stinted the level of knowledge that needs to be learnt.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Personally, I think that this has been one of the biggest negatives of the apprenticeship scheme. Training has been minimal for the exams that need to be taken. The training provider never arrived on time and seemed to lack in knowledge of the technology that was used/needed to take the training session. I believe that I would of been better off having training sessions within my office more regularly, or to have an Aon own training scheme.

  • There is a great deal of support from my employer and I feel valued within my team and office.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I believe that salary should be slightly increased as my personal costs are rather large due to me having to use public transport everyday to get to work.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • During the initial two week training course you naturally make great friends within the apprenticeship. Unfortunately, these friends you make are located around different Aon offices within the UK. I do think that more opportunities should be created outside of work to network with these apprentices on a regualar basis.

  • Yes

  • Because Aon is a great company to work for with amazing oppurtunities, great colleagues and a good working atmosphere.
