Serving customers on the till, doing delivery that's close to the till on delivery days, tester orders on cosmetics, tidy and face store and cosmetics, making sure shelves are fully stocked and not over filled
Learnt how to do tester orders, zero to zero on cosmetics, star in the making, top 30 shrinkage, developed my confidence
I didn't enjoy being put on the till for long stretches of time as I felt that I could've been developing my skills on the shop floor more as I'm not usually on the shop floor. Work book was difficult to complete as managers couldn't allocate time for me.
I didn't feel very valued in the superdrug I worked in, I felt that I was purely there to be on the till most days, I felt like my skills weren't being used as much as I would've liked and I felt that I couldn't develop in confidence for a few months
My induction and initial training was good however getting a time to do my coursework was difficult, getting managers to talk to me about various bits of work I needed to complete with them was difficult.
My assessor explained things to me in a way that I understood, helped me when I was struggling to find the answer to questions that I didn't understand.
my managers were initially very helpful and would set aside time for me to do my work but as time progressed it would become less and less frequent and I would have to take my work book home in order to get my work done
my salary is very hard to live off, especially as I drive, have insurance, mot and tax to pay and parents to pay back as well as random breakdowns to deal with. I would often struggle to be able to pay off my bills and keep enough money to fuel my car everyday
I would generally not do anything on my days off except try and get things I hadn't managed to be able to do after work, like washing and cleaning my car and getting fuel. There was no company activities outside of work except going out for drinks but I don't drink
No
My managers didn't help me unlock the potential that I feel I have, I felt like I was there purely for till work, my salary was not enough for me to be able to fund a car and various bills and I found my working atmosphere a bit difficult and catty.
I had to really pester the manager of my store to give me a definite start date.
