1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am a PC&S apprentice combining training up at Eakring with on the job experience in Liverpool. I am also completing a BTEC in Mechancical Engineering. All this training is in order to become a qualified technician. This will involve adjust pressures and operating and maintaining National Grid's assets.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt a lot of skills since I started. We have completed courses in things such as First Aid and then in the workshop we have been doing P.E.O. This involves hand skills and getting used to using tools which has been very benefical. We have also done a pipework course learning how to bend pipe and assemble pipework. In my on the job experience I have learnt skills in working together as a team to complete jobs.

There are opportunities to socialise with my colleagues outside of work when we are away in the leisure facilities at Eakring. The technicicans I work with on site have also told me that they are always available to contact outside of work hours if I have any questions or problems. This is very beneficial for me.
