1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I do a number of things within my day-to-day job, I manage the central team inbox, I ensure the smooth running of the website as well as administrate it, I help with the monthly finances and run the logistics of the 150 Events which all the directors attend across departments.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, I've built on my communication skills, I've developed event management skills and I'm building leadership skills which is key in my grade. I am also doing job shadowing which is allowing me to see how other departments operate.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I love the job, the apprenticeship side is poor. I love the company and the people, however the organisation of the apprenticeship itself is terrible which has nothing to do with the Civil Service.

4. How valued do you feel by Civil Service?

when i started, I didnt feel valued at all, however the longer ive been here, the more valued i feel.

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very bad - havent got an assessor for part of my programme and the other one is more of a waste of time.

very little.

i appreciate all the support i get, i wouldn't be here without them.

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

not that much, as I have to spend a lot in rent and travel.

there are a lot of opportunities!

Yes

the job is such a good experience and im learning so much. there's so many different people ive worked with and I appreciate all the help ive been given.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Civil Service?

challenge yourself, don't box yourself in. get the best experience possible and make the most of it. most importantly, enjoy yourself! be open with yourself and your line manager. Build relationships within your teams and speak to those outside of your team. Communicate with others on the programme, make a lot of contacts and friends! the idea of the interview process is daunting, but don't think about what's next, just take one step at a time.
