Training for an A license. This involves studying for module exams and practical assessments in the workshops. All this is done working along side expert engineers who are of the highest standard.
I have so far developed a lot of hand skills in the workshop. I now have the ability to do certain tasks on my own with full capability.
I couldn't be anymore happier with my programme with Thomson. My team mates are like family now and we all get along through the ups and downs.
I feel extremely valued. We keep contact with our managers when we are away from base and they even come to visit us to make sure everything is ok and we are getting on fine.
We had an induction day where we met our team mates and saw the hangar for the first time. All information is clearly given to us with any questions about it responded to promptly.
If we require support, it is there for us. All we have to do is ask (that is if we haven't already been asked).
We get a lot of support from Thomson such as home visits each month and accommodation when we are in training.
Very well. Although we don't earn a lot of money, it is more than an average part time job and it is comfortable to live on and use for savings.
We have the opportunities to travel with discount when we have been with the company for a 1 year +
Yes
Because of the professional environment where everyone is treated fairly. Everyone is given a chance to prove themselves and progress to higher levels of engineering.
Get lots of varied work experience so you know exactly what you want to do. It isn't for the average engineer, I believe it is essential for there to be a passion for aircraft and hunger to work for such a successful company.
