  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the Fujitsu side of the apprenticeship very much, but feel the college side of the programme is not as satisfactory. I would rate the ~Fujitsu side of the apprenticeship much higher than the college. 10/10 I enjoyed the Fujitsu side of it, however the college side of the apprenticeship was far less than enjoyable. 2/10

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Fujitsu?
  • Moderately valued by Fujitsu. The Pay does in crease every so often which is a positive and there are ample job opportunities available. you are assigned 1-1 manager so your progress is always tracked, this enables you to make improvements in certain areas of work if necessary. Plenty of feedback is received from managers and open communication and constant contact is encouraged.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The Fujitsu side of the programme has been very well thought out and I received a lot of training and support. However the college side of the apprenticeship was not at all to this standard. I found it difficult to get in touch with the college tutors when I needed to and felt they did not offer anywhere near as much help as was necessary.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Not very much at all. The college tutors rarely messaged back, I did not find them helpful at all in explaining work to us. We were handed sheets of paper outlining what to do and not much else. visits were sporadic and never to a time which suited out work schedules. Often the tutors would come late or early to visits and we would have to sit in the canteen until the booked meeting room was ready for the time we booked it. The college tutors would not acknowledge our attempts at contact and instead assign 3-4 units at a time with short due dates and expect it all to be finished. The college tutors also were not available all throughout summer. So winter proved a busier period as you would receive all feedback in one go and expected to finish it asap.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Extremely supported, the Fujitsu manager and team are friendly and helpful and always offer advice and guidance when needed. This has helped my skills and confidence grow a lot. any problems can be taken up with your assigned' buddy' a former apprentice you meet at the start of your apprenticeship who is very helpful and lovely.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Moderately so, as previously mentioned the pay does increase every so often which acts as an incentive. In comparison to most apprenticeships this salary is a vast improvement. this wage covers petrol costs and daily costs on a whole as well as rent.

    4/10

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Yes, constant emails regarding new jobs and positions so you are always well informed. this is always a positive and the managers will help you move departments/ apply for jobs if you ask. you are encouraged to find a role that suits you. there are different locations all over the country which is good for meeting travel demands. offices are general flexible with hot desk working.
