I work within Project Control Services and have just recently switched roles. Previously I managed current and future demand resource profiles for a series of engineering departments. Currently I am involved in the building of schedules for a contract bid team.
I have completed an APM qualification in Project Management. I have attended a training course to improve skills in Microsoft Project. I have also developed skills such as communication, negotiation and team work.
I enjoy both the work aspect and the university aspect of my scheme. I have often found that the enjoyment from the work aspect is often dependent upon the area and team in which you work, but most areas are very geared up to support the scheme members.
In my previous role, I found I was underappreciated by senior managers however this has changed within my new role and is not indicative of the overall business. I am now highly involved within projects.
The programme is very well structured and clear. There is a lot of support available both at university.
I find the tutors at college are highly supportive and are usually understanding of the demands of work.
The scheme leaders are very supportive and are always available when you encounter a problem.
We are well paid for Apprentices. I find my salary covers living and travel costs.
There are often charity events to be involved in, either to assist in the running of or just to participate. You can also become a STEM ambassador where you can do voluntary activities in schools / colleges. There are also many clubs that occur, and there is a gym / sports centre opposite the Warton Site with football pitches and squash courts.

It is a globally recognised company that looks after its employees and pays very well. You are being paid to earn an honours degree in Project Management from Lancaster University and gain 5 years experience as a professional Project Manager.
Think of a variety of skills / attributes and identify situations in which you have used them (from clubs, extra curricular activities, Extended Projects ect) This will help in both the application form online and the interview.
