I am a project controller and my daily tasks include managing budget for multiple departments across the business. I have to check peoples time bookings, expenses and forecasts to make sure they are in line with the business needs and also the contracts budgets. I work across both Typhoon and Tornado contracts.
I have developed lots of people skills, engaging with different stakeholders, holding and chairing meetings, addressing conflicts amongst much more. I have developed excel skills. I have also learned how to teach people what I know to maximise efficiencies
I like my programme because there is so much to learn. Sometimes lack of guidance in the workplace can lead to idle periods but self motivation gets rid of this issue.
I do not feel as valued as other members of the business. For instance there are many people doing the same work (if not less) and get more recognition and are paid considerably more. This can get infuriating and can lead to lack of motivation
There are some aspects of the scheme that are not very well structured at all and could be enhanced such as scheme communication and consistency between different year groups.
Support is good from scheme co coordinators and from college but in the workplace training and support can be quite limited which can be infuriating and can cause lack of motivation.

the salary copes with costs very well and I think for my age I am paid well but in comparison to other people within the business the wage is very low which can lead people to undermine my actions because I am not as high of a grade than them.
Yes there are lots of opportunities whether this is traveling with work, getting the placement you want or even just talking to people who have "been there done that" to get an idea of how people have got to where they are today
Yes
Because the pay compared to other companies is quite high and there are lots of opportunities to progress.
Be sure to brush up on computer skills and try to enhance communication skills as this can help very much in applying and working.
