  • I am currently working in placements and moving around the company into different areas. I have been involved with drawing, building, testing, commissioning and designing.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • During the apprenticeship I am always developing my skills and increasing my knowledge of the tasks I am performing. If I am unsure, there are always people around that are happy to help.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have always had an interest in electronics and to have a job that is my hobby is brilliant.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by BAE Systems?
  • I feel that BAE Systems want me to succeed in my apprenticeship and will support me with any issues I may have throughout.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure of the apprenticeship is well planned and thought out. The placements allow you to find out about the company and allow you to learn new skills as well as work out where you would like to work at the end of the scheme.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • My training provider will assist me in any issues I have if required.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer is very supportive and I feel I can talk to them about any issues I may have. Regular NVQ progress meetings allow me to voice any issues I may have.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I have no issues with my salary.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Yes, BAE organise many out of work events and encourage employees to participate in events such as World Skills and other projects around the site.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I feel that the apprenticeship route is a very good path to take. BAE Systems look after their employees and offer a lot of opportunities.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • I would advise people to apply to BAE Systems if they have a passion for what they do and they are interested in the position.
