  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On a daily basis I am included into the asset management. this involves the refurbishment the maintinance and the fixing off all equipment used on a substation.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • since i have started my apprentieship i have improved my team work skills and my communication skills i have also gained machining skills on things like the lathe and pillar drill.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am currently enjoying the programme that i am involved in. I'm also enjoying everything that it has to offer me such as the courses i didnt think i would be taking part in.

  • I feel that national grid vaulue me and what i have to offer them this is why they provide me with the training and accomidation that they currently do.

  • i feel that the programme is well organised we always know what task we need to carry out where we are meant to be and what time, if plans change we are informed.

  • if you needed helpthere is many people that you could go to in the organisation that offer you advise and help. i think there is an adiquate amount of help provided

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • this organiseation pays us very well, while applying for apprenticships this was the best paid one that i saw advertised the pay that we are given meets all of my needs.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • on a regular basis i reieve emails asking me if i would like to take part in events that are being held outside of work. so i do have many opportunities to take part in these events

  • Yes

  • becaus it is a very successfull companyto work for and they provide you with many different opporunities and they also have a wide veriaty of job rolls


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to National Grid?
  • if i was going to give someone advice when applying for this job then i would tell them to take there time filling in the applincation for make sure you answere all questions correctly and just be yourself
