  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Being an apprentice signaling design engineer involves many different tasks such as designing a location case or producing design modification everyday is different and its hard to say what can be expected on an average day

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt a lot of skills learnt through either college or training courses as well as the general experience from just being in the office I have learnt skills from bench fitting to cad working.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am thoroughly enjoying my experience at Siemens from the different experiences and through the interactions from my colleagues it exceeded my expectations

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Siemens?
  • I personally feel I am valued by Siemens as I am included in many different things from meetings to being handed work I feel that I am not left out of anything

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • my programme is structured pretty well we had an induction at the start of the apprenticeship and then we were at college on a block release for 8 months whilst we completed our PEO qualification attending the office during college holidays once the PEO was completed we attended college one day a week to complete the HNC qualification

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • we receive a lot of support from the training provider as they are always available and happy to help with work if something was not understood within the lesson they also always point you in the right direction if further research is needed

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • we receive a lot of support from our employer as if a days study is required we will be allowed this time also we are allowed to complete assignments within works time

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • being located in the city center travel costs are minimal as there isn't a need to travel via car so money is saved by fuel and parking costs there is a lot of places to eat near the office so lunch can be either cheap or expensive but on the whole I always seem to have money left at the end of the month

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • there is a lot of opportunities outside of work there's a weekly company football club and the office is always planning different nights out

  • 9. Would you recommend Siemens to a friend?
  • Yes

  • i have experienced a lot over the past few years a lot may have never of happened if it was not for Siemens if my experience is anything to go of i know my friends would have enjoyed it just as much as i have


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Siemens?
  • i would recommend not to panic when it comes to the interview its not as bad as seems i was extremely nervous when it came to my interview and now thinking about i don't know why i was
