I am a junior software engineer and my day-to-day tasks are to fix and write code for our products. I also test them to make sure that if there are any problems, that they get fixed.
I have developed on my communication skills and have also improved on my team working skills. I have learnt new styles of programming and how to lay it out in a efficient manner.
I enjoy the work I get given by HPE but not by QA as the assignments that QA give me are similar if not the same to what I have done in college, so I have to do some assignments again.
I feel valued as I am given tasks which I would not expect to be given as an apprentice and I am also asked if I need help or if I can help with someone else.
It is not that organised because it is the first time that they have done this apprenticeship in my workplace so it could be improved. Also QA isn't very good at responding to important emails.
I don't receive a lot of support as they don't respond to emails quickly and when they do, it isn't a helpful answer. They also don't word some of the responds very well so I have to try and figure out what they mean.
I get a lot of support from my employer and they make sure that I am satisfied with the help they have given. They also give constructive criticism which helps me learn to do something better.
The salary at the moment is a bit low for my liking and should be a bit higher, it just about meets my costs so I have to budget what I can and can't spend. If it was higher it would help a lot.
They are events happening quite often near or in work which is very nice and they also offer discounts and tickets to events/activities outside of work which is very nice.
Yes
Hewlett Packard Enterprise is a very nice company and you feel welcome. You also feel like part of a big family when you join a team.
Just be yourself and also learn a small bit of coding just to help in some areas.
