1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

9/10

I am an Applications Developer here at JPMorgan. My day to day work is varied based on which project I am working on and who I am working with. I am coding in Java, Natural and COBOL to design and develop applications and functions. I often speak to our internal clients to understand their requirements and how exactly to translate those requirements into a useable product.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

10/10

Since I joined the firm as soon as I left school I had to quickly adapt to the working environment. My social and communication skills have developed hugely from simply interacting and talking with colleagues every day. I've also learnt how to work in a professional environment. This includes; Time management, working to deadlines, being adaptable and how to work efficiently.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

10/10

During school I was very hesitant about the path I wanted to take, since joining I haven't looked back. There isn't an aspect of the program the I dislike. It's very rewarding to work for such a large firm. Its easy to enjoy your work.

4. How valued do you feel by J.P. Morgan?

10/10

JPMorgan invest in you when you join the firm. They commit to training and supporting you so you can become a valuable employee. I am valued as a member of the team and viewed as an equal. Apprentices have a great reputation here, I feel as respected as any of my colleagues.

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

10/10

The program is structured in a way to give you enough time to get to grips with the world of work while also giving you enough time to study. It does this very well while also giving you the opportunities to develop yourself further.

6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

9/10

BPP are very good at giving advice and tutelage whenever we need it. They are very generous with their time and offer literally all the help they can to help us succeed.

6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?

10/10

Nobody expects you to come into the firm as an apprentice and know what you are doing from day one. The support and training has been great. Everyone is committed to help you learn.

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

10/10

It is hard to complain, earning a wage straight of school is already a blessing. I pay rent, food and travel costs yet I have disposable income left over for myself.

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

9/10

There are sports groups for almost anything you can think of. As well as this there are Business Resource Groups (BRGs) which are similar to societies while provide plenty of opportunities to meet people and help out in the community.

9a. Would you recommend J.P. Morgan to a friend? *

Yes

9b. Why? *

It is the best way to start a career. Being able to gain valuable experience, develop personal skills while also making a wage is the ideal package.
