  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am an Applications Developer here at JPMorgan. My day to day work is varied based on which project I am working on and who I am working with. I am coding in Java, Natural and COBOL to design and develop applications and functions. I often speak to our internal clients to understand their requirements and how exactly to translate those requirements into a useable product.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Since I joined the firm as soon as I left school I had to quickly adapt to the working environment. My social and communication skills have developed hugely from simply interacting and talking with colleagues every day. I've also learnt how to work in a professional environment. This includes; Time management, working to deadlines, being adaptable and how to work efficiently.
