  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My current role is in the Anti-Money Laundering team within Compliance. Our main objective is to investigate activity which could potentially be connected to fraudulent or illegal activity. We interact with various internal groups as well as external regulatory bodies in order to relay our findings and escalate where necessary.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • More than I, for one, ever expected. Whether it's from your manager and surrounding colleagues, or from the Course Coordinators and fellow apprentices, there is an extremely dense and wide network of people to call on. This can be for professional advice, or even just a chat after a stressful afternoon. Always there.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I live locally, and at home with my mum, so my overheads are fairly low. Saying that, considering the current average apprentice salary, we are extremely to earn what we do, given our experience level and age.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Countless. Whether you're in to Sports, Coding, Knitting or any other activity you can think of, there's a club. If there isn't a club, you can be helped to make one, if you so wish!

  • 9. Would you recommend J.P. Morgan to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • This is one of the largest financial institutions in the entire world. There are very few organizations in existence that have the scope and opportunities that J.P. Morgan offer.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to J.P. Morgan?
  • Don't expect it to be a walk in the park, or think that you'll be treated as less than equal because you're an 'Apprentice'. This is quite simply not the case, you are equal to any other employee.
