  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am located at one of Capgemini's top 5 clients in the UK where I am responsible for supporting the SAP Enterprise Portal, creating new content and roles; and ensuring the application is fit-for-purpose. I'm also involved with ABAP development work, making changes to SAPscript forms, programs, reports, and BAdIs; across their SAP ERP, BI, SRM, and PI applications.

  • Creating SAPscript forms, programs, reports, and BAdIs; across their SAP ERP, BI, SRM, and PI applications. I also learnt new skills in SQL, JAVA, BI, Python and project management.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy working as a team so that we can provide the highest quality service to our clients. This allows me to gain valuable work experience.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Capgemini?
  • Capgemini have a scheme dedicated to apprentices so that each individual is appreciated for the good work they have done. Each employee is awarded appropriately.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The program is very well organised and continues to improve year on year. The apprentice and graduate team are always on hand to offer useful advice so that you can fulfil your job role with Capgemini to its optimum.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I completed my degree with QA apprentices. They could do with improving their process. Reviewers can be lazy.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a huge amount of support from my current project team allowing me to gain a greater skill set. The lead developer I work with is always showing me news skills which allow me to improve.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salary system is very generous at Capgemini to start off with allowing apprentices to fly up the wage scale. The system could be improved by a more detailed review system.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There is a huge amount of opportunity outside of work to get involved with company events. Internal email's are always being sent around offering opportunity to employee's so that you can get involved with charity work.

  • Yes

  • Excellent apprenticeship. Excellent prospect's. Good career path.

  • Prepare accordingly. Ask current employees for advice about signing up to the scheme.
