  • I assist trainee solicitors in their daily tasks, including the drafting of client emails and detailed company/case research to contribute towards larger projects. As part of the placement it is necessary to communicate with various members of the firm's experienced team.

  • I have learned how to effectively manage my time and have developed a keen eye for detail which is crucial in the wider field of law. Communication skills are developed simply due to the nature of the work, with constant discussion helping to boost my confidence and approachability.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I absolutely love this programme because it gave me an extraordinary insight into the corporate legal field and will help propel me into a career in law. The firm's culture was exactly the kind of accepting and professional atmosphere that I hope to have in my future career.

  • Pinsent Masons is a world-leading law firm but at once it seems extremely intimate and down to earth. I have been made to feel really valued with constant feedback on my work showing me that I am really making a difference to the wider world of the firm.

  • The programme has clearly been well thought out as it provides the perfect balance of training and working. The initial induction was really in depth and explained the entirety of the Pinsent Masons environment.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • The training providers at Pinsent Masons are extremely understanding and approachable, offering advice and guidance whenever and wherever you need it. The connected nature of the firm means that it is very easy to contact any supervisors who always help you with a kind and helpful attitude.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The senior members of each department are as approachable as every other employee because of the firm's open plan scheme. The lack of individual offices creates an atmosphere which encourages support between staff and the senior members really provide a wise and experienced perspective to any problems you may come to them with.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The work experience scheme does not provide a salary but the provision of free food and drinks all day long helps to counteract the priciness of surrounding London. Any visits outside the firm were financially covered by the firm.

  • The firm has various partnership schemes in order to have a great impact on the surrounding London community. What's more, the firm has various sports teams and societies to provide an appropriate work/leisure balance.

  • The firm prides itself on its friendly and diverse working atmosphere and this is a brilliant environment for a young person to become involved in the world of work. Pinsent Masons is a fantastic law firm and the work experience scheme is exceptional.

  • Ensure that your application is honest and portrays you as a keen and enthusiastic individual. Having previous experience in a professional field is useful in establishing a well-rounded background.
