My role is 'Attractions & Communications'. On a daily basis I will put together slides for meetings, Approve travel requests, Receive and send emails on things such as University visits and Volunteering etc and also put together a weekly newsletter on upcoming events and experiences on ones that have already taken place. Between all of this there will be meetings I attend and take minutes for aswell as sharing the minutes, slides and sometimes recordings onto a sharepoint for all to see
During this apprenticeship I am working towards a SQA qualification in Higher business administration. I have also been on a 3 day Project Management Fundamentals course and have gained more confidence by doings things such as hosting meetings and networking with people outwith my group at volunteer events etc.
I enjoy coming to work everyday whether it be because of my team, the company culture or the work I am doing. I always saw myself in an office based job as a child so now to be doing this motivates me to do well.
Even being a few weeks into my apprenticeship scheme in HPE, I always felt valued. The managers make you want to exceed and give you a level of responsibility which feels good. As an apprentice visiting universities and schools it is an amazing experience because it shows that you have done well and they want everybody to see that.
As I started later than the other apprentices in my scheme, my induction was much shorter. However I do feel it was as informative as the others. Everything has been no problem so far, our task load has increased over time and I feel we get enough support and OTJ training for us to be happy
My training provider gives us a good amount of support, he will come and see us for reviews on a 6 weekly basis, however in the mean time if we ever have any problems we can always email him.
My employer is willing to support me on a lot of things, especially on volunteering etc.
My salary meets my costs nicely and I am happy with the amount.
HPE do a lot of volunteering and fundraising, clubs etc. So there are many opportunities for me to get involved in.
Yes
I enjoy working here and think It is a good company and hope that over time this job could lead to going higher places within the business.
Always try to be the best you can
