L2 Incident Analysis Review

Currently I am employed by Hewlett Packard Enterprise as an L2 incident analysis. My day to day tasks involve investigating incidents at a high level to help resolve any customer issue, if needed these issues will then be passed on to L3. I am restricted to what I can say for example the projects I work on, however I can disclose that I work on the DWP account.

I have been with HPE now for 2 years I am just a few weeks from graduating from being an apprentice and have toughly enjoyed the program, from meeting new friends and building my network for my future.

I fell highly valued with the opportunities that have been given to me, I feel that I have a positive impact to HPE. regular 1-2-1`s keep me up to date with my progress to keep me on track to my career path.

overall as we are the first wave of apprentices there was a few hiccups but this has now been rectified and all other apprentices have not come across our issues. our training, which was provided by QA was great however the lecturer lacked knowledge in certain areas.

The support which was available to us was very limited, the in class lecture had limited knowledge and at some points we became the teacher and the tutor become the pupil. our in work assessor was very helpful and provided us with guidance throughout the programme.

There has been support from my employer from the day I started, managers and HR have always been there to help guide me through, even helping me through my course work they have been a great help.

located in cobalt business park there is a bit of a travel for me, I have to go through the tyne tunnel which take a chunk out of my overall salary. there Is offers for people who travel by bus but there is no benefit of anyone who travels by car.

outside of work there are regular opportunities, for example HPE hold an event every year named codewars which interlinks many different schools in the north east to compete on who is the best at coding.

The whole apprentice experience has been great, a little unorganized at times but this has be accepted.

firstly when applying, a high interest in IT is a must, you must be willing and give it all you have, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to work you way into a worldwide company and build your internal network. the onboarding process consists of a telephone interview which involves asking "why would you like to work for HPE", "what products do HPE currently have to offer". once complete this will then be followed by an assessment day where you have an exams with basic questions, a group activity (to show how you work in a team) then followed by an interview, it`s a lot simpler than it sounds.
