  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Auditor of banking and capital market clients. Daily tasks include testing the different financial statement line items and ensuring that what is on the face of the FS is true and fair.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Built upon my relationship and communication skills. completed all 12 of my ACA first 2 stages of exams. Learnt a lot more about financial instiutional processses.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the networking opportunities that the programmes provides me and the balance of work and university giving me a different scenery throughout the year. Working it self is not as enjoyable as I thought it would be.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by PwC?
  • There are recognition awards within my audit unit at PWC however I have not felt I have benefited from any of them. I did not feel as valued as was reflected in my feedback.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is well organised however it is extremely difficult in the sense that we are expected to come back from the 3rd placement to complete our final exams and to have done research for our dissertation whilst working under busy season (leaving work at 1am)

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I do not hear much from my tutor whilst working. I get an occasional eamil asking if there are any problems but they would not be able to help anyway as it would be work related.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I get great support from my people manager whilst working at the firm. He was attentive to my questions and always helped when I needed it.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I feel the London offices should be paid more than the rest of england since the cost of travel is one of the most expensive in the world. I have also foudn that my expenses have been much greater being in London and it is difficult for me ot save the monthly pay without being careful with my money. Also considering the number of hours worked it works out to be less than minimum wage per hour.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • I take part in any social events organised by the company. there are lots of sporting socials that everyone can take part in. I have also signed up to the PWC Games being held in July which encourages a "sport day " style event and raising money for the PWC foundation.

  • Yes

  • It depends on the person in question.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • To be confident and fully research the office applying for as each office have different clients and specialised areas.
