  • Trainee auditor in the Liverpool audit department. Day-to-day activities include talking to clients, completing audit fieldwork etc.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes - communication skills improved due to constant contact with clients. Organisation improved due to constant juggling of work. More mature individual due to working environment. Studying for AAT - learning a great amount from work experience gained. Courses on presentation skills etc. Responsibility given on jobs.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Work is difficult at times, and the hours can be long. The team I am a part of is fantastic, and really helps the enjoyment of the programme. Company culture is good, but increasing emphasis on longer hours.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Grant Thornton?
  • Yes. Internal recognition via. CLEARR points awarded by colleagues. Regular catch-ups with line manager. Good level of responsibility given.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Lots of training and support given, training courses to Bradenham etc. Plenty of study time given and good understanding in the office of the demands of study.

  • Good level.

  • Good level. Regular line manager catch ups. Colleagues always willing to help out when you're stuck.

  • Salary is not plentiful compared to travel costs and hours worked/responsibility given.

  • Lots of social events and sports actitvites.

  • Yes

  • Great place to work, great people. Good guidance/support through training contract. Good level of responsibility. Good first step on career ladder - opens doors.

  • Do your research. Be yourself. Don't rush.
