During my first year of my apprenticeship, I am just in college. So the majority of my work is college work at the moment. But when I do progress through my apprenticeship, I will become a "Body CAD Engineer".
In the trail blazer part of my course, I have learnt practical skills such as filling and assembling/disassembling components. Even though I already had learnt about filling before, I extended my knowledge of it.
I enjoy most parts of my apprenticeship, this is because I feel like it pushes me in some areas. It also gives me a chance to learn about the trade I'm going into, before going into my job role.
With Jaguar land rover, I feel very valued. This is because of the constant reminders of what we mean to this company, and the amount of effort they have put in to get us to where we are.
In the majority of aspect, I feel as the programme is very well organised. But as there is with most programmes, there are area which need improving. Such as the selection of classes for maths.
My trainer gives me as much support as they can possibly give. If there are any queries or any problems, they are the first person I go to, because I trust they will do their best to sort it out.
Similar to the trainer, my employer give me as much support as possible. Whether that be solving a problem or just general support. This is so I am ready to do my job role when I am put into it.
In this apprenticeship, I feel as the salary is very good. Although I have a bit of travel cost, the pay more than facilitates for it and I am able to have a good amount of spare money after all of my costs.
From what I know about, there are several activities which occur outside of work which anyone can get involved in. But seeing as the majority of time is spent in college, I am unable to participate in these opportunities.
Yes
Because it is a great company that treats it employees very well. There are also several perks to working here, which make the experience more pleasurable. And if the company is not for you, the training they provide allows to move on if you so wish to.
You don't have to be the smartest to work, all you need is the right attitude and mentality. So when applying, always try and stick to a professional mindset and be sure that this is where you want to be.
