1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Saver's is a really great place to kick start your career I'm retail, simply no 2 days are ever the same. For example one day you could be on the till actively selling great promotional products to customers, then the next you could be doing other tasks In store such as completing the mini stocktake or other paperwork. You work a base 39 hours per week with various shift patterns allowing you to gain knowledge of all aspects of the business. Savers is a really great place to work with excellent progression opportunities. I started my level 2 apprenticeship and have since gone on to become a supervisor and acted as assistant manager on one occasion.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes I have developed many skills since I started my apprenticeship, my people skills have come on leaps and bounds. I used to be quite shy and reserved however now I will speak to anybody. I have also gained management skills which have really helped me since being promoted to supervisor.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoyed my program, the fact that you learn whilst you earn is great. I have since gone on to starting a Level 3 retail sales professional qualification.

4. How valued do you feel by Savers?

I feel extremely valued as an employee of savers, I use the phrase you get out what you put in and that really is the case with savers.

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

The program is extremely well structured, your assessor comes into store to visit you on a regular basis and sets you work to complete ready for your next visit. You are allowed to complete your workbook whilst at work and are granted time of the shop floor in order to do this on a weekly basis.

6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

The support is excellent nothing is ever to much. If you are struggling to complete your work, they will sit down and work through it with you. My assessor has been great and has helped me go from one strength to another.

6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?

The support from my store management team has been great. If I ever had to ask them for help, I would arrange a time for them to help me and they would sit and talk through it with me.

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

The salary helped me massively after I left college and my costs were really minimal as my store is based a short distance from my home.

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

9a. Would you recommend Savers to a friend? *

9b. Why? *

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Savers? *
