  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I assist with the setting up and maintaining the ruNning of courses within RBS. (The logistics) i track and follow courses from start to finish using our diary. From, scheduling the course onto the system so delegates are able to view it or enroll onto it, to closing it off after it has ran. The typical course would need to have materials ordered and briefs sent to facilitators and venues.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes and many. Working in a profesional environment such as RBS gives me the opportunity to learn and develop many skills some of which will prepare me for the independance later live brings. I have become more formal and profesional, confident and more social which is important when you are talking to stakeholders and people you may not know on a day to day basis.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • A lot, so far i am enjoying this much more than i did expect and i can see the future being the same. I have met some great people and become more social. • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Incosistent. My Training provider BPP are very helpful and always answer any queries i may have, but i do feel the structure could be better. The work and revision notes are coming to me at differant times and its hard to keep track off. One time my revision notes did not seem relevent to my exam and it was hard to revise. But this was very quickly resolved by BPP.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Lots of support. I could not ask for more support from my team, manager and RBS.I have had many great opportunities to meet high level people across the bank and had some great conversations which has motivated me to improve and pass my apprenticeship. I have been provided with training courses and time out to do my apprenticeship work, its great!

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I do not have many costs but i am extreemy satisfied with my salary package and all the benifits RBS offers. I am so happy i am able to buy things i wouldnt usually buy and be able to afford it. Money and salaries can be used as a motivator and a reward and i think RBS offer great benifits to motivate staff to push on ad do better things.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Yes. I have recently signed up to go round to schools and talk about my apprenticeship and hopefully persuade some of them to join up and do one themselves as its a great opportunity to get a good career. Also Within RBS there are sessions such as Learn @ Lunch where you can go on short courses within your lunch hours, learn new skills and gain good experiences and meet new people.

  • 9. Would you recommend NatWest to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • They are a GREAT employer. The support i have been given is amazing and couldnt ask for any more help and guidence than i am getting. RBS is a great company and the salaries are great and match what work you put in. You truely get rewarded for what you do, this is hard to find in most companies now. I would without a doubt reccomend RBS as a fair employer to a friend or family member.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest?
  • Be Yourself, RBS are very acceping and welcoming of you and who you are. It is great to get along with collegues here. Interview wize, i would say just be calm and dont panic as the people interviewing you are at the end of the day just people and you will realise that when you get the job. You will look back and think there was no need to be nervous at all. Be YOU, calm, relaxed and confident in what you are capable of.
