My role as a trainee Quantity surveyor involves tracking progress on site, contacting subcontractors to send out enquiries and follow up quotes.
Being able to do a university degree alongside work has enabled me to understand the application and put this into practice. I have had internal training on contracts that we are currently using and how these may be updated in the future which was very beneficial as I am now beginning to work on subcontract orders.
I enjoy coming to work especially with a very welcoming and helpful team which as a new starter has been great. The company culture is relaxed and professional.
I regularly get feedback on my work and appreciation with work done well. I feel very involved with the project and that the work I do is valued.
the induction and training has been great however the programme has not been fully explained to me but meetings about this development are regular and useful.
I gets lots of support from my training provider, being given assistance whenever I asked and have never felt a negative attitude for supporting me.
I gets lots of support from my employer, being given assistance whenever I asked and have never felt a negative attitude for supporting me.
The salary meets all my cost and I am given a respectable wage for the role I am in. My university fee's are paid for and my travel cost are met.
Around Christmas there were a number of events going on from large full office groups to the small site team. Also there has been a few charity events such as a skydive and a colour run.
Yes
The support has been great working with a good team welcoming team and the salary in good for the role I am in. The working conditions are good and the equipment supplied is to a high standard.
The application process was swift and not induction not over the top on things that don't apply. I would try show off your skills in the interview and be confident.
