I work as an apprentice civil engineering for Morgan Sindall, my day to day duties include construction management, setting out and surveying of work
I've learned many new skills since starting my career, setting out and surveying are my most practiced. Other key skills development include communication, record keeping, mathematics and engineering
I love the programme! It gives a great balance between studies at college and project work on site. The support and encouragement I have received has been amazing
I feel very valued, I was asked by my company and the college I studied at to feature in a STEM newsletter where my photograph and story of employment was detailed. My company have arranged for my training up to HNC level and beyond
Very well, my theory training at college has been balanced really well with on-site work and training. I have acquired skills and understanding that are essential for civil engineering
A high level of support has been given by the college
A high level of support is given at every stage of training, my team are encouraging me to develop myself with regular performance reviews, tutorials and tool box talks
Even as an apprentice I have received a decent salary, I have also finished my first stage of the scheme and have been told a new offer is being drawn up
