  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work with the process where we give our partners funding in order them to carry out projects with their customers, and in turn we get a return on investment. My role includes reporting and analysing data and working with PSE’s (Partner Sales Executives) to help manage projects and get them completed on time.

  • Communication skills, team building skills. Sales skills, Excel skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my job but some days it can get quite stressful due to the workload.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Microsoft?
  • Extremely valued by my managers. We always have catch-ups so they can monitor my progress and it gives me the opportunity to tell them any worries or concerns I have with my role.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • To start off with, my job role responsibilities were not keeping me busy enough and I have therefore now moved teams to a Sales role with new responsibilities. There are a lot of training schemes that are open to me, a long with support meetings.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Minimal - apart from when the training provider come on site.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A lot of support. there is a lot of guidance and training sessions on offer. Apprenticeship manager here at Microsoft is always on hand.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Travel costs are minimal due to the free shuttlebus. My salary manages to cover all my costs.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • A huge amount e.g. GetOn, travelling to local schools to talk to children about applying for an apprenticeship.

  • 9. Would you recommend Microsoft to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Really good company to work for. Good opportunity as you gain an insight into a globally successful company and can experience and discover further the different roles available within the organisation.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Microsoft?
  • Be yourself! Use your skills to your advantage and be an individual. Try and differ yourself from other candidates so that you stand out.
