  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a Pharmacy Operations Project Assistant. I am involved in many different projects both some small ones which are my own along with helping the wider team, I often have to arrange meetings with people outside of my team.

  • I have learnt how to use Excell and know i will be doing a qualification in IT in the near fututre

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the whole company of Boots, everyone is friendly and helpful and willing for you to succeed. My team is very supportive and encourage me to do what i think is best to help grow my confidence and skills, i so far have thoroughly enjoyed my time in my apprenticeship and cant wait to see where the next couple of years takes me,

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Boots?
  • I feel valued, especially when i complete a task that is needed to be completed to it deadlines etc

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My Programme is very structured with 3 placements 2 of 1 year and 1 of 8 weeks, so we can gain the broadest knowledge of the entire business, we attend college every thursday to gain the education part of our course.My line manager also does 1 on 1's on a regular basis for catch up's and to express and achievements/worries.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • We are constantly told by our programme leader and tutor that they are there to offer support and that we shouldnt be afraid to ask for it, it makes me feel comfortable that i would be able to seek help if i were to need it.

  • We are constantly told by our programme leader and tutor and line mamanger aswell as others involved in the programme that they are there to offer support and that we shouldnt be afraid to ask for it, it makes me feel comfortable that i would be able to seek help if i were to need it.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I have many hobbies and expenses but i find if I am sensible my wage covers everything i want to do.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • We are taken on trips as part of our course and the business offers many CSR and volunteer activities that we can be a part of.

  • Yes

  • Boots is a fast paced and motivated business who is constantly striving for the next step it is an exciting place and offers many different opportunites for many different wants and needs.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Boots?
  • Stay Confident, be yourself and if you believe in something say it! dont try and be what they want you to be because they arent looking for an already made business person. They want someone with talent and drive which they can help develop into the best apprentice for boots. Grab every opportunity you are given. Always think about where you would like your career to go and be focused on that but dont be blinded by that, sometimes you may have to take a different way around to get to the place you want to go but it may benefit you by doing it.
