1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role at Harrods is training to be a highly successful sales associate, this involves a high level of presence on the shop floor where most of my time is spent experiencing the day to day trading of the business, while using and applying my training that I learn in sessions off of the shop floor. My tasks during the day are to ensure that the customer experience at Harrods is of the standard that our customers expect with a globally renowned name, while ensuring that the environment our shoppers are in is clean, tidy and showcasing the latest collections from some of the worlds most well known designers.

Since starting at Harrods I have learnt many new and interesting skills that I can take with me through my career. I really enjoy the Retail Academy run by Harrods, and it is a valuable opportunity to kick start my career in retail, I can't think of a more exciting environment then Harrods in terms of the team that I work with, as well as the customers that walk through our doors every day. The Retail Academy is a well organised programme with dates planned well in advance and also providing training and information at relevant times of the year, such as providing management level training prior to a peak trading period. Meetings with our program director are arranged monthly and through a mail based intranet so it can be timed at suitable times for both parties.

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

My salary has been enough to live off of comfortably being able to meet all of my expenses and in most cases allow me to have enough at the end of the month to put away for savings. I budgeted my place of living, and travel expenses over what I was told I would be paid from my pay package.

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

The company offers many activities outside of work such as fitness classes as well as voluntary everts that allow us to give back to the community outside of work.
