  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is in retail supply on the baby team. I am a supply assistant for changetime and wipes. This involes daily tasks such as the Monday Morning reports, the daily critical reports, appropriations reports, making manual orders, releasing orders, meeting with suppliers, communicating with suppliers, making sure suppliers have booked into the warehouse on time and sales plan. I have daily interactions with my work colleagues such as the other members on the baby team and working with the buying team. I also communicate on a daily basis with my suppliers. As I have only just started my daily responsibilities are the critical report and appropriations.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have really enjoyed the programme so far. I am really enjoying meeting my other apprentices for lunch and getting to know them aswell as at college. This is great because we are all the same kind of age and going through the same experiances so we are there to support eachother and becoming good friends. I am enjoying getting more responsibility and learning my job role. The programme is exceeding my expectations and really do feel privelaged to have got on to such a great programme.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Boots?
  • I feel very valued, the great training I have been given and time. It feels like there is so much oppurtunity for me at Boots and by being on the programme it isnt just the job role im doing now it includes so much more. By getting to do 2 placements during the scheme I think that its brilliant as Im getting a variety and can then find out what it is that I would like to do at Boots. As i might really enjoy my first placement and not want to move on to my second but I could turn out that I actually prefer that one. It is taking me out my comfort zone which is great and I think it makes me feel very valued.

  • 9. Would you recommend Boots to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I think its a fantastic place to work and would advise many of my friends to apply for the apprenticeship as I think it is a fantastic alternative to university. Getting paid to learn aswell as a career. I think this apprenticeship is a great step on the career ladder as after the 2 years I should hopefully be able to move onto a level 6 role at Boots and that is what a graduate would come in as. I think it is a fantastic way into the business.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Boots?
  • Be well prepared for the assesment day as I think that was crucial.
