  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On a day to day basis I work with design engineers contributing in the design of Onshore and Offshore Substations. My role is to shadow engineers and take in as much information and knowledge as possible to allow me to understand how all the systems on substations work and why all the equipment on substations are used. I have many targets set to assure myself that I am progressing in the work place and learning a great deal of knowledge.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed on a variety of skills such as communication skills working as part of a team and different methods when approaching a variety of challenges. I have definitely learn a lot of new skills in the engineering environment an now feel very confident in facing challenges alone and as part of a team.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I think my program has been exceptional and its been a pleasure to have the opportunity to work for such a great organization. I enjoy all work I do here for Siemens and enjoy all challenges I may face.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Siemens?
  • I feel I am valued here at Siemens and I really feel part of a team here. I never have to worry about anything as if there is ever any struggle I am surrounded by great teams who will support me all the way in providing me with anything I need to ensure I gain the most success in my apprenticeship.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The program is very well structured and Siemens have provided me with some interesting training and resources to help me along my journey to a successful career with Siemens.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • My Training providers always arrange meetings for discussions to review my progress in the workplace and to discuss any problems I may be having at work. Support is always provided and a regular contact is always made.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • receive a great deal of support from Siemens my team and others around the workplace are always there to help. I am never alone with any challenges if there is something I may be struggling with my managers and work colleagues will always go the full extent to help me or at least point me in the right direction.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • my salary I think is very good for the level in which I study and covers all my cost and I am always able to have a great social life and cover all living expenses etc with my salary.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There is always company events being held around the Uk and the world where Siemens may host the events or take part in which I always have the choice to contribute and take part.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a great place to work, you are very well looked after, a very cultural organization where you can interact with people from all over the world making new friends and having a great relation ship with other. the level of support is outstanding.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Siemens?
  • Look into the job roles and have a look around as there are so many opportunity its always good to try different things.
