1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I have primarily been involved in web development. I recently moved to business analytics. Both roles have proved to be interesting. Within web development I was responsible for creating functional wireframes from a design visio. It was riveting working to a time constraint.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt the basic fundamentals of web development, including HTML and CSS. Briefly touched on LESS and JavaScript. You are in contact with many different softwares within most IT environments. The apprenticeship is currently guiding me through a software engineering degree, keeping things interesting.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Massively. I have worked with and alongside many influential teams and individuals that are always willing to share their knowledge and experiences. Thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of this.

4. How valued do you feel by Accenture?

Accenture always have time for me. The support an apprentice receives within the company is very high. They are investing in apprentices and only want the best for employees.

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

The structure came as a shock to me at first but the level of guidance out weighs the difficulty. Self study is expected a lot of the time so you have to get some self motivation in order to get ahead of the game.

6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

My training provider is always available. Whether it be a phone call or meeting. The program has a tremendous set of tutors and mentors who know exactly what you need to get over an obstacle.

6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?

Accenture has a select group of people who I can turn to for support within the HR team, but any Accenture employee will help you if they can. Managers tend to give you time for study alongside your role and can guide you if the task is work related.

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

As a slightly more mature apprentice I find the salary adequate for me current needs. Location is a reasonable distance from home but I limit the costs by car sharing to work.

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

There are many activities that are regularly shared with employees. I dont take part in any of them, other than charity work. I spent 3 days building a website for a northeast based charity.

9. Would you recommend Accenture to a friend?

9b. Why?

It has to be the best place I have worked. Excellent benefits and rewards for employees. People who I would recommend would certainly be surprised with how far Accenture to be an excellent company to work for.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Accenture?

Research. Research. Research. Make sure you also find time to learn about software and applications in order to broaden your skill set before applying. Be yourself during the onboarding process. Revise any keys skills you feel will aid you in being a cut above the rest of the candidates.
