  • Asset and change analyst: I look after and monitor assets for the project and the client, perform software renewals, raise changes and more

  • Gained confidence, continuously learning new skills eg. using different software, also business skills

  • The company culture and goals are very good, I enjoy working with the team I'm in, lots of support(If needed).

  • 4. How valued do you feel by IBM?
  • I do feel valued on the whole. There are a few people who don't value apprentices as much as they would other colleagues.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Well structued. we have regular meetings with people managers, regular training courses and most of the apprenticeship qualification requires on the job learning, so we can just get on with it most of the time.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • as much as I need/ want.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • People manager assigned to each apprentice, and he/she is available to contact with any issues at any time.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • At the moment there are times when I do worry about money a little, but compared to other apprenticship schemes IBM pays well, and there is also scope for pay rises over each 6 month period.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • IBM tells its employees to do "giveback", where each employee is required to use some of his/her time to do something for others; this could be spreading the IBM name at a careers fair, or running technology days at schools

  • 9. Would you recommend IBM to a friend?
  • Yes

  • As I feel it is a very good company with strong morals, I am proud to be an IBMer.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to IBM?
  • To be yourself and most importantly to show that you have an interest in the company and the services it provides. Maybe look up its history, or find out recent key deals (eg with Apple)
