  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work with Boots Pharmaceutical products and help develop the packaging of these goods. My role requires me to check the artworks are correct, for example, reads accurately, looks as anticipated and is appropriate for what the bigger team wants to see. My role gives me a lot of responsibility and I feel I play an important part in my team.

  • My confidence has excelled since I started as an apprentice with Boots three months ago.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy having the responsibility to delivery tasks which influence other team members jobs - I feel that I play an important role which gives me a lot of satisfaction in my work.

  • Collegues apprechiate the work I do.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • We have weekly organised sessions for NVQ work. Training is provided when ever and where ever necessary.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Weekly sessions are timetabled into our working week and therefore I always have the opportunity to talk to other apprentices or tutors about any problems.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Salary is excellent for apprentice wage, I am very happy considering it also furthers my educational qualifications. I commute from home each day so travel expenses are quite high, however, because of the exception wage it is no problem for me whilst I have no other financial responsibilities.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Within the apprentice team our social life, outside of work, is good. However, I have not yet attended any classes or events which are provided by the company - I do know there is a range of activities available.

  • 9. Would you recommend Boots to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Although I have only been part of the apprenticeship programme a very little time I already feel that the work I have been asked to do, for example, my store placement, has helped me excel in terms of confidence, understanding and ambition. I think this programme has given the best start to my career and will allow me to develop greatly.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Boots?
  • Be confident in yourself.
