  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On a day to day basis my job role consists of servicing the turbine and occasionally troubleshooting any problems. I am put into a team everyday but generally these teams stay the same, this is good as it gives a good base for learning.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learned many new skills since starting my job such as working on Electrical Systems and troubleshooting them, working on Hydraulic Systems and troubleshooting them and also how to work in such a close knit team everyday.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my programme as I feel I get all the help and support I may need whenever I may need it, I also feel like the team I work within always give me help and support and have made me feel comfortable since day one.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Siemens?
  • I feel very valued by Siemens as I have always been praised when I have done something very well but I have been thoroughly helped when I have needed it also, I have also been given many opportunities to help promote Siemens as a business which I feel is a big responsibility.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is very well structured and organized I feel because we are always given 10 weekly reviews and this can tell us where we are in terms of our progress and also how our chosen site feels about us which I find important as it can show me where I need to improve.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I feel I receive adequate support from my training provider as they will get back to us about queries we may have but sometimes I feel that they do not visit us regularly enough on site to see where we actually are in terms of progress etc.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from my employer in regards to questions or queries I might have as our HR department are quick on getting back to us and also my line manager is very quick at getting back to us and helping us with any problems.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • My salary more than meets my costs as I have my own home and can afford my living costs comfortably and also when I travel for business all of my travel expenses are paid for me which I feel is a great bonus as not many companies do this.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are many opportunities outside of work for me as Siemens holds an annual Tech Conference which helps to tell all the technicians how the business is doing and also allows them to ask questions about any changes or worries they might have.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I feel that Siemens is a good company to work for as you aren't treated like a number most of the time, the salary is good and you are never made to feel like a question or worry you have about anything is silly.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Siemens?
  • I would say to others applying for Siemens to be yourself during the interview stage, also during onboarding ask as many questions as you can if you don't understand something or just generally need help with something, they will always answer as best as they can.
