The role taken is as a sales associate on the shop floor. Day to day you do everything from serving customers to make sure the shop floor is to standard but there is also plenty of other opportunitys to take part in sale set ups and various other activites
There is so many skills you learn like how to lead a sale, various etiquette methods for different nationalities. Everyday is like a none stop learning experiance
A lot. This difference between this program and being just a sales associate is that it automatically opens so many doors like meeting directors and hearing their story's but also offers so much more support than you would get anywhere else
Harrods make you feel very valued as the programs hold a lot of reputation within the business.
The program is very well organised at the beginning of your placement you are given an overview of all the trainings you have so you can easily plan other things around them and if trainings change they are changed with plenty of notice given.
A lot of supports, they are always on the other end of the phone or contactable by email and not even just for work related problems, I personally needed help sorting something unrelated to work and this was sorted within minutes of phoning them.
A lot of support there is always someone on hand to help you with something you are unsure of or if you can't find someone on the shop floor you always have a number of someone to phone who will be able to solve the problem
Very easily I know a lot of people who work within retail and the salary offered is far more than I know what anyone else gets. Also team that with a very healthy discount offered and the pay is amazing
Harrods offer various other things outside of work like fitness classes and hundreds of training courses
Yes
Because since starting the placement I have found myself offered so much training, support and this has help me become more rounded individual. You gain so many opportunitys and help to take them.
I would tell anyone who applys to Harrods, just enjoy every moment because there is no store like it and when your manages give you tasks that may seem well outside your comfort zone and scary take them and give everything towards it because you will feel so much better for doing it.
