1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am a Revenues Assistant for London Borough of Hackney's Council Tax Enforcement team. I deal with residents that have fallen behind on their council tax. usually in the form of reports, also speak to residents on the phone and some face to face

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt how to analyse a persons account to see if a person has been correctly summonsed to court The most skill that I have improved the most is my letter writing skills.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the people I work with on a day to day basis, this includes colleagues as well as the management team who are easy to talk to and enjoyable to work for. Sometimes the work gets a bit boring as it can be quite repetitive.

4. How valued do you feel by Hackney Council?

I feel quite valued as they have always provided any information that may be helpful to me, as well as information that isn't neccessarily helpful but is good to know

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

I would say that the program is well organised as we got started with the course quite quickly, as i was working though the course quite quickly the assessor kept up with the pace and kept giving my next piece of work so that I was not waiting around.

6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

I received quite a bit as there was a unit where I wasn't sure what to do and my assessor talked me through it.

6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support from my employers, as my coursework are based on my job. they are keen on the apprenticeship program so have help if i need it. my manager offers the most as she is flexible with my time for the course and she does provide help for units if i need it

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

In terms of salary for an apprentice, i would say the pay is fair, also as i live quite locally to where i work i manage to keep my costs to a minimum

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

there have been a few opprtunities outside of work but that is more specific to the actual job that i am doing as opposed to the qualification, some of the jobs do require a IRRV which i am in the process of obtaining

9. Would you recommend Hackney Council to a friend?

9b. Why?

i have got into a job that is secure and that will likely keep me on once the apprenticeship finishes, and this is a job that i may not have been able to get into without an apprenticeship

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Hackney Council?

Take full advantage of the opportunity as it will either help onto a career or at the very least make your CV look alot better for prospective employers
