  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I was given tasks by my supervisors that were relevant to helping the company, which was great because you felt like your work had value and wasn't just something to keep me busy. I got to meet a lot of great people, hearing what they do in the business. I had a huge variations of projects and enjoyed all of them, a lot of them were to do with research but what I had to research was interesting for me.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed my research skills and presentation skills because I helped run one of the workshops for CV writing. I spoke to a group of people about my background and was able to inspire some of them as they told me afterwards, which was great to hear.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed the programme and it got better and better as the week went on. Had some really interesting tasks to complete which I enjoyed every bit.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Pinsent Masons?
  • I feel part of the team, they are all very welcoming and warming to new people. Even walking around the building you feel like everyone wants to meet a new face and make you feel welcomed.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It has been very well organised, I have been with a lot of different people and getting work set from different departments to give me a great overall background on most of the departments.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • There was a lot of support from my supervisor, they even introduced me to many others so I felt more welcomed and part of the team. They would help me in anything that I wasn't sure about and would be happy to give up some of their valuable time to help me.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Yes I received a lot from them but because we has supervisors it was more them that would support me in any queries that I was wondering about.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I didn't have a salary because this was a work experience program for one week.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Yes there are a lot of opportunities outside of work and they are all easily accessible for anyone to come and have a go. Plus inside work there are lots of opportunities.

  • 9. Would you recommend Pinsent Masons to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because its a brilliant business model with a lot of different areas therefore meaning that there is a lot to learn within the company. Also the staff make you feel very welcomed and like your part of the team from the first day all the way to the last. Everyone was willing to give up some of their time to support me or just to tell me a bit about themselves and what they do within the business. It was a very useful week and would not hesitate to suggest to friends.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pinsent Masons?
  • Make sure you apply because it was such a brilliant experience for just one week and would of happily continued here to learn even more about this interesting and vast company.
