I am a software developer apprentice. As part of a team we build software products for Sky and we tackle software problems which may appear. Daily meet with our scrum master who is our team motivator which we tell them what we did the day before and what we are going to do on that day.I am responsible for the security of our code and that it meets a certain standard.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt how to work in a self managing team. This is a team which is able to achieve goals without a manager involved. Furthermore, I have learnt the fundamentals of a programming language called Java.

The course starts with the organisation of the year. This is to make sure you understand what will be coming and what you need to do to achieve expectations. There is support from everyone in the company and plenty of work is given for me to do.

10/10

Salary is great for an apprentice. It is enough to cover all the costs for an apprentice.

10/10

There are many company events which apprentices are encouraged to go on. There are plenty of company activities which employers can get involved in. When I'm not working I go to the sky gym which is full of personal trainers who help you out.
