1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I do a lot of different tasks throughout the day such as paper work in the morning and monthly files, completing my WEK calls, serving on the counter, pricing different products, creating flyers and emails and text.

I have completed quite a few training courses which I have travelled up to our head office in Northampton I learnt a lot of new skills that I use day in day out, I have also learnt a lot from my colleagues

I feel this is a very good company to work for and I feel like the ways you can progress is endless, I never really knew much about Howdens Joinery but I'm so glad I started work and don't think ill leave the company now.

4. How valued do you feel by Howdens Joinery?

I feel I am valued by howdens as you do get reconised by all different people such as depot managers, area managers, regional managers and also training staff that say you should progress and do a certain job makes you feel good about yourself

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

I feel like I have had a few problems with this through the apprentice company as it took a long time to meet my first learner manager after a few months he left the company, which then meant I was left with no one for a month I was emailing another learner manager as I was well ahead with my work and I wanted to complete this as quick as possible, my new learner manager came in to see me but didn't really know what to get me to do or what my job was about I felt like he wont be able to help me this Is why I'm happy I was put on courses through Howdens.

6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

Not a huge amount as I feel they don't really know what I should be doing and cant really answer any questions that I have I have tended to do a lot of the work my self.

I have received a lot of support from my employer which has really helped me when I have been down picked me up and he has always said I can do whatever I want. I am very happy.

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

I find this hard as its such a small wage and I am trying to save for a house I also find I do a lot of work and work hard at my job trying to do whatever is needed and you don't benefit from the bonus scheme which I find a bit unfair but it is what it is.

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

They are always loads of things to be able to do with the company such as competitions as such trying to meet you number at a certain margin and if you do you get rewarded for it also you get to do a lot with your own depot but it depends on what sort of people you have in your depot depends on what they all want to do

9b. Why?

Because the opportunities are end less! you can progress through the company and quickly also! you have a close relationship with all the other depots its like a big family even though things do get tough!
