  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • The week began with an induction event at the Birmingham Office, where I was able to meet and interact with other Business Insight Week interns. Following this, I was based in the Assurance department, where I experienced various auditing tasks.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • After the week, my skills in using Excel have improved, as well as my ability to communicate and relay messages to others. I have definitely learned more about audit over the course of the week aswell.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The programme was very enjoyable. It was great that we were partnered with a buddy who guided us and was there to answer any questions. Furthermore, I enjoyed the fact that we were able to experience a realistic insight into a job at PwC.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by PwC?
  • I felt valued to a great degree. Everybody was welcoming in the office and having a buddy particularly increased how valued I felt.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme was well structured and I was contacted by my buddy the week prior to the work experience. Timings could have been clarified slightly more

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Everyday, we were given the opportunity to tune into a webchat where we were given information on applying to PwC and potential opportunities. As part of the webchats, we were able to ask any questions and recieve support. Therefore, there was a high level of support.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • We were kindly paid for this work experience, and travel expenses to locations other than our base office were reimbursed. I would therefore rate this aspect highly.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • As we were only there for a week, we were understandably not included in any social activities outisde of the office.

  • 9. Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Not only is PwC a great name to put on any CV, but the experience is a great insight into the professional services.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • As part of the application process, I had psychometric tests and an interview. It is definitely worth practicing these beforehand. Also, don't be overwhelmed with having to do these, they're not as daunting as you may imagine and getting a place is definitely worthit.
