I was also given a 97 question project which explored markets providing a thorough understanding.

J.P. Morgan places a high degree of value upon many individuals placed on the Aspiring Professionals Programme. I was given the opportunity to talk to a diverse range of individuals providing invaluable exposure. this was reinforced by the fact that I was given a 2 hour meeting with the managing director of my department in which we discussed any questions or concerns I had. My line Manager and Mentor also provided a great deal of support on my project and were always available when support was needed.

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is exceptionally well structured. The first few days were spent on inductions and various in-depth talks from many sectors within the Bank. We then were divided into our small groups and allocated the the designated roles we were given. Here during the first day we were introduced to individuals from our department and given the insight into their work. We were then allocated our projects in good time and had sufficient time to complete the work.

6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

The support I received and continue to receive from my mentor is excellent. I was provided with continued assistance throughout my tenure with the firm, including on the projects I had been given. I now continue to be in regular contact with my mentor even after my programme was over where we discuss matters such as my on-going personal statement and University advice.

The support received from my employer was and still is of high value. I am in frequent contact with many people from the firm and they are always keen to aid me with any concerns I have be it application forms, personal statements and interview preparation. The overall general attitude given towards me is impeccable.

Living costs, travel expenditure and daily costs such as lunch were all funded for. This was very much appreciated indeed. Location from the accommodation to the workplace was relatively nearby due to easy access to and from the tube stations.

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

Opportunities outside of work were very extensive. These ranged from: skills sessions such as networking with many senior people from the workplace; developing presentation and confidence; exposure to Universities with trips to the University of Oxford. In regards to Application processes and interviews, ensure you demonstrate and come across as an individual who has a real passion for the career in which they endeavour to pursue. By this, what is meant is that it is paramount for you to have done your research not only on the company but also on the specific job role you are applying for. Valid understanding of current and world affairs which would be of concern are also very important to have. Having an opinion on matters is also key.
