My placement was in the BS&A stream and My role was more of an office junior role, where other senior staff would give you any work which they needed help with, generally it would be very easy tasks, such as scanning or creating spreadsheets. But for half of my placement I did go to client site. At client site the tasks where a little more challenging but you get a lot of help along the way, and everyone so friendly so your not afraid to say ' I don't get it'.
I have definetly enhanced my skills when you using Microsoft excel, I have used it so much and learned about so many cool features and shortcuts, which make using the software very easy.
I have definetly enjoyed the programme as it gives you a real insight into the working life of an account at BDO or any big firm. And they greatest part is the fact that they treat everyone the same, as if joy have been working there for years and everyone is so friendly as if you've known them for years.
I feel very valued by BDO and the amount of work I completed at client site shows that I have a part of such a big project, and they really appreciate all the work you do for them.
The programme is very well structured every at the office knows your on the programme and what the programme is all about, you all go to london on the first day, and then your at your local office for the rest of the time. Everything runs smoothly with ought any hic cups also.
N/a did not have a training provider throughout this programme.
A lot of support is given by all employees in the office, no matter how senior. They all very approachable and easy to get along with. They will answer any queries you may have anf give you all the help you need to compete any tasks.
All your travel cost are covered which is great. Even your transport to London on the first day, and to client site. Also you get paid £200 for the 2 weeks as a bonus.
Yes, lots. While I was there, many of the orther colleagues used to out regularly after work, and would always invite you along.
Yes
Very good experience and insight into working for such a big firm, and helps you understand what your role would be if you were to do the school leaver programme with BDO.
Be yourself in your interview and show the interviewer you are passionate, and talk to them lots. Also don't worry about the online tests as they aren't that hard.
